Knights of Columbus
Knights of Columbus
Supreme Council
Thanks to efforts of Fr. Michael McGivney, assistant pastor of St. Mary’s church in New Haven, CT and some of his parishioners, the Ct. state legislature officially chartered the Knights of Columbus as a fraternal benefit society on March 29,1882. Since then, the organization has grown from one to over 15,000 councils and 1.9 million members. The Supreme office remains located in New Haven, CT.
The order remains true to its founding principles of charity, unity, fraternity and patriotism. Our charitable activities encompass an almost infinite variety of local, national and international projects.
Our programs are structured on Family, Faith, Community and Life.
As knights we are all called to serve God our Father, our Lord Jesus Christ, Holy Mother church and our parishes. As knights we must unite to defend the faith and help grow the church by providing her with our full support.
